125 ml (1/2 cup) warm water
30 ml (2 tbsp.) Sugar
2 sachets of dried yeast
125 ml (1/2 cup) vegetable shortening
250 ml (1 cup) sugar
1 egg, beaten
5 ml (1 tsp.) Salt
500 ml (2 cups) milk
1.5 liter (6 cups) flour
60 ml (1/4 cup) butter
125 ml (1/2 cup) brown sugar
250 ml (1 cup) icing sugar
2 ml (1/2 tsp.) Vanilla
30 ml (2 tbsp.) Melted butter
30 ml (2 tbsp.) Milk
In a bowl, combine water, sugar and yeast. Let stand 10 minutes.
In another bowl, beat the cream fat. Add sugar, egg and salt. Mix well.
In a saucepan, heat the milk until lukewarm, then pour the yeast. Mix well.
Stir in the previous preparation. While mixing spoon, stir in enough flour to make a soft dough. Knead about 5 minutes on a floured surface.
Shape into a ball and let rise 20 minutes.
On a floured surface, roll the dough into a rectangle about 40 cm x 30 cm (16 in. x 12 in.). Spread with butter and sprinkle with sugar. Roll into a cylinder, then slice into 2.5 cm (1 inch) thick. Place rolls on a greased baking sheet. Faires up about 3 hours.
Preheat oven to 180 ° C (350 ° F). Bake the buns about 20 minutes in center of oven.
Mix the icing sugar, vanilla, melted butter and milk. Garnish the hot buns.
