4 ciabatta rolls
1 pound lean ground pork
1 egg
1/2 cup bread crumbs
2 green onions
1/3 cup chopped red bell pepper
2 c. tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese
1 c. teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
2 c. tablespoons parsley
A pinch of basil
A pinch of paprika
A pinch of onion salt
A pinch of hot pepper flakes
1 pinch salt and pepper
1/4 cup chili sauce
Topping for hamburgers:
mayonnaise
tomatoes
lettuce
Slices of fresh cheese
In a bowl, combine all ingredients except the barbecue sauce or chili sauce.
With wet hands, shape mixture into balls about 3/4 inch thick.
Brush the dumplings with a thin layer of chili sauce before cooking.
Set the grill to medium-high.
Place patties on greased grill and cook 15 to 20 minutes.
Toast the bread 1 to 2 minutes.
Put the meatballs in the bread. Garnish with mayonnaise, lettuce, tomato and cheese slices if desired. Serve immediately.
