1 1 / 2 tsp. teaspoon grated lemon zest
3 tbsp. tablespoon lemon juice

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
In a small bowl with electric mixer, beat 1 1 / 3 cup flour with 1 / 4 cup sugar and butter until the mixture has the consistency of coarse crumbs.
Pack the bottom of a preparation for 8-inch square pan aside, ungreased. Bake 15 minutes or until lightly browned around.
In a small bowl with electric mixer, beat remaining sugar with the eggs, 2 tablespoons tablespoons flour, baking powder, zest and lemon juice. Pour over hot crust.
Bake 15 minutes or until mixture is taken. Cool on a rack in pan. Sprinkle with powdered sugar. Cut into bars.
Makes 15 large or 24 small bars
