3 cups medium noodles
1 pound lean ground beef
1 / 2 cup chopped green pepper
1 can tomato sauce 14 oz (398 ml)
1 / 2 tsp. tsp dried oregano
1 cup cottage cheese
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese divided
1 / 4 cup sour cream
2 tsp. tablespoons finely chopped shallots
1 / 2 tsp. teaspoon salt
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
In a large saucepan, cook pasta according to package directions, drain.
In a large skillet, cook beef and green pepper until meat is browned and peppers, tender, drain. Stir in tomato sauce and oregano. Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring constantly, remove from heat and set aside.
In a small bowl, combine cottage cheese with half the cheddar cheese, sour cream, shallots and salt. Pour half the pasta in a square baking dish 8 inches (20 cm) square baking dish and not greased. Cover with cheese préparatin, then the remaining pasta. Spoon the meat mixture. Sprinkle with remaining cheese.
Bake, uncovered, 30 minutes, or until pasta is heated through. Let stand 5 minutes before serving.
