1 each clove garlic, minced, or:
2 tablespoon catsup
2 tablespoon finely chopped onion
1 tablespoon steak sauce
1 tablespoon cooking oil
1 tablespoon worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon sugar
1 teaspoon vinegar
1 single dashes hot pepper sauce
1 lb lean ground beef
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
4 each hamburg. buns,sliced,toasted
1 single lettuce leaves (opt)
1 single american cheese slices (opt)
1 single pickle slices (opt)
1 single red onion slices (opt)
For sauce, in a saucepan, combine garlic, catsup, steak sauce, sugar, vinegar, cooking oil, Worcestershire sauce, and hot pepper suace; bring to boiling. Reduce heat and simmer, uncovered, for 5 minutes.
Meanwhile, in a bowl, combine beef, salt, and pepper; mix well. Form meat mixture into four 3/4" thick patties. Grill on an uncovered grill directly over MEDIUM coals for 15 to 18 minutes or till well-done, turning once and brushing often with sauce.
Serve patties in buns with lettuce, cheese, tomato, pickle, and onion, if desired.
