Use a small frying pan that's about 5 inches across. Heat the pan slowly with 1 teaspoon butter or bacon fat. Break the egg into a cup - don't let the yolk break - then slide it into the pan.
Cook it slowly. It shouldn't sputter. If it does, you're frying it too fast. When the white part begins to set, make a ring of thin frankfurter slices on ti, all around the yolk. Now finish cooking the egg - still slowly - the way you like it.
