1 C Brown sugar -- packed
1 C granulated sugar
1 C Butter
2 egg
2 Tsp vanilla extract
3 C all purpose flour
1 Tsp baking soda
1 Tsp baking powder
1 Tsp salt
3 C old fashioned oats
1 C ground or minced walnuts

Pre heat oven to 350*. Grease cookie sheets. Beat the sugars, butter, egg, vanilla extract until smooth. Sift together the flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt. Add all at once to the egg mixture. Beat until smooth. Add the oats. Mix well. Drop from a teaspoon 2 inches apart onto greased cookies sheets. Bake for 12 minutes or until light brown.
