1 1 / 2 cup all-purpose flour
2 tsp. teaspoon baking powder
1 / 2 tsp. teaspoon salt
1 / 2 cup butter
1 1 / 2 cup packed brown sugar
2 eggs
2 tsp. teaspoon vanilla
1 1 / 2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1 cup chopped dates
1 cup chopped walnuts

Cooking Instructions:

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

In a medium bowl, mix flour with baking powder and salt.

In a large saucepan, melt butter. Remove pan from heat, add brown sugar and mix. Add eggs and vanilla.

Stir in dry ingredients, cheddar cheese, dates and walnuts. Spread batter into a greased 13 x 9 x 2 inches (33 cm x 23 cm x 5 cm) pan.

Bake 30 minutes or until lightly browned. Cool on a rack in pan. Cut into bars.

Makes 9 large or 36 small bars
