Alaska Octopus Gumbo: Date Added: 20 Nov 2009 Ingredients:

1/2 cup diced bacon
2 cup water
1 pint fresh octopus, steamed until tender
2 cup slightly undercooked steamed rice
1 lb canned tomatoes
1 can okra
1/2 cup diced onions
1 diced green pepper
1/4 teaspoon cayenne
1/2 cup diced celery
1 salt and pepper to taste

Cooking Instructions:

Boil bacon in water for 15 minutes, then add the rest of the ingredients. Simmer together for ten minutes. Serve with warm cornbread. Serves four.

Yield: 4 servings
