4 ripe bananas
8 rashers streaky bacon
a bit of olive oil for basting
Peel the bananas and cut them in half. Stretch a rasher of the streaky on a chopping board using the back of a knife. Wrap the bacon round the banana half and secure with cocktail sticks.
Grill over a medium hot part of the barbecue until the bacon is crispy and the banana soft and starting to caramelise. Baste with a little olive oil if the bacon gets too dry.
You can do these bacon bananas under a grill for an exotic breakfast. Thats assuming you won't have a barbecue lit at 7:30 in the morning.
